Requirements
OS
UDON is designed to be cross-platform, and should work on any OS on which Blender runs.
Blender
Blender 3.3 - 4.2 is required.
Blender 3.5 warning!
A bug in Blender 3.5 causes files with custom nodes to crash in some situations. This has been fixed in Blender 3.5.1, so it is critical to update, in order to avoid crashes when using UDON.
Compatibility Policy

UDON strives to support all currently maintained Blender versions (the latest stable release and all currently maintained LTS releases). However, this cannot always be guaranteed, as unforeseen circumstances can lead to delays in implementing support for new Blender versions.

UDON releases may drop support for unmaintained Blender versions. Patchx.y.Z
releases are guaranteed to support all Blender versions supported by the previous UDON release. -
Every UDON release is guaranteed to support at least the most recent Blender version that was supported by the previous UDON release, to aid with any potential migration needs.

Blender versions between currently maintained releases (e.g. versions in between LTS releases) are partially supported. UDON is not actively tested on those Blender versions, so issues are more likely to arrise, but bug reports relating to these releases are still addressed. Support for such versions is only dropped once the minimum supported LTS version is increased.

UDON does not support pre-release/experimental Blender builds (such as Alpha or Beta versions).
Installation Process
UDON does not require any special procedures for installation. Simply use Blender's standard addon installation procedure:
- Download the zip file you got with your purchase of UDON (no need to unzip it)
- Open Blender and go to Edit ⏵ Preferences...
- Select the Add-ons tab
- Press the Install... button from the top bar
- Navigate to the UDON zip file, select it, and press Install Add-on
- Enable UDON by checking the box in the add-on list
Updating Process
- Follow the installation process steps 1-5 (step 6 is not necessary, if UDON was already enabled)
- Restart Blender!
